Load Tests
The CSA B167-96 states that prior to initial use of new, reinstalled, modified or rebuilt equipment, the following items and components shall be tested:
- Motions
- Limit switches and limiting devices
- Circuit controls and interlocks
- Holding brakes and travel brakes with the hook carrying the rated load capacity
- 125% of the rated load capacity, the specified speeds need not be attained but the crane shall be able to function with the load without difficulty
